Care settings

Slide 1 / 5

• Ambulatory (outpatient) — clinics and physician offices; short visits, scheduled. • Emergency department (ED) — unscheduled, fast, triage-driven. • Inpatient — admitted patients in hospital units (medical-surgical, ICU, labor & delivery, pediatrics). • Perioperative — pre-op, operating room, recovery (PACU). • Ancillary departments — lab, radiology, pharmacy, therapy, nutrition. • Post-acute — skilled nursing, rehab, home health, hospice. Each setting has its own EHR modules and workflows.
