Tables

Rows, columns, headers, captions, table sections, spanning cells, and when tables are the right choice.

When to use a table

Slide 1 / 5

Use a table for tabular data β€” information with rows and columns where each cell relates to both its row and its column: timetables, price comparisons, sports results, financial figures.

Don't use tables to lay out a page. That was common in the 1990s, but it's hard to maintain, breaks on phones, and confuses screen readers. Page layout is CSS's job (flexbox and grid).
