Formatting text and cells

Slide 1 / 5

The Home tab's Font group changes typeface, size, bold/italic/underline, and text color. Borders add lines around cells, and Fill Color shades their background — both help readers see where a table starts and ends.

The Alignment group sets horizontal (left, center, right) and vertical (top, middle, bottom) position, plus indent and text orientation.

Good formatting guides the eye: a bold header row, light borders, and consistent alignment (text left, numbers right) make a sheet easier to read than bright colors everywhere.
