SAS, R & Python for Data Managers

Where programming fits in CDM, SAS in the pharma tradition, the growing role of R and Python, automating listings and checks, and reproducible, validated code.

Programming in clinical data

Slide 1 / 5

• SAS has long been the industry standard for SDTM/ADaM and TLFs, with validated environments. • R is rapidly growing (pharmaverse packages like admiral for ADaM, sdtm.oak, rtables), and regulators have accepted R-based submissions in pilots. • Python is used for automation, data pipelines, ML and integrations. Data managers don't need to be full programmers, but scripting skills automate repetitive review and make you far more effective.
