Designing eCRFs that sites can complete accurately — CDASH standards, field types, controlled terminology, avoiding duplicate or derived fields, and CRF completion guidelines.

What makes a good CRF

Slide 1 / 5

A case report form (CRF/eCRF) collects protocol-required data. Good CRFs are: • protocol-driven — collect what's needed, nothing more, • clear — unambiguous questions and units, • consistent — same layout and terms across forms and studies, • standards-based — CDASH, so data maps easily to SDTM, • site-friendly — logical order matching the visit workflow.
