Introduction to Pandas

What pandas is, Series and DataFrames at a glance, and getting started.

What is pandas?

Slide 1 / 5

pandas is Python's library for working with tables of data β€” the tool behind most data analysis in Python. The name comes from "panel data" (and "Python data analysis").

With pandas you can load data from CSV, Excel, JSON, and databases; clean it; filter, sort, and group it; combine tables; and summarize it β€” all in a few lines of code.

It's built on NumPy, so it's fast, and it plugs into plotting and machine-learning libraries.
