Correlations

Measuring relationships between columns with corr(), reading correlation values, and their limits.

What is correlation?

Slide 1 / 5

Correlation measures how strongly two numeric columns move together.

β€’ If one rises when the other rises, they're positively correlated β€” workout duration and calories burned. β€’ If one falls when the other rises, they're negatively correlated β€” price and units sold. β€’ If there's no pattern, they're uncorrelated.

Finding correlations is often the first step in understanding what drives a result.
