Introduction to Python

Python is a general-purpose language known for readable syntax. It's used for web backends, data analysis, automation scripts, and most machine learning work today.

Fun fact: it's named after the British comedy group Monty Python, not the snake — which is why so many Python tutorials joke about Spam.

A Python program is a sequence of statements run from top to bottom. Try predicting what the example in Try It Yourself will print before you run it.
