From SQLite to PostgreSQL

Slide 1 / 5

SQLite (Django's default) is a single file — perfect for learning and small sites. Production sites usually use PostgreSQL: a robust database server that handles many users at once and has powerful features.

You can create one on a cloud service (Amazon RDS, Azure Database, Google Cloud SQL, Render, Railway) or install it locally. Install a driver:

pip install "psycopg[binary]"
